This Veterans Day, I want to share a bit of gratitude for all my fellow veterans around the country. Thank you all for your service.
Military service runs several generations back in my family. My father is a U.S. Army veteran and later a Tennessee Army National Guard retiree. Several of his brothers are veterans as well. I served in the U.S. Air Force between 2002 and 2008.
I’m lucky enough to have a job where I am off almost all U.S. federal holidays and, while the outside temperature is cold today, it is sunny and could have been a great day for working with the radio. However, we’ve got strong winds today which prevent me from putting a wire into the air. Instead, I’m relegated to listening to a friend of mine activate POTA park US-2256, Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis. Bryce, N9WF, and I were classmates in the CWops CW Academy earlier this year and became good friends as a result. He was recently inducted into the CWops club as member number 3834. His CW sending is a pleasure to listen to, which is a testament to how far he’s progressed this year as a CW op. Upward and onward, Bryce!
